The RMAF 2010 Weinhart Design Mini Review

The Rock Mountain Audio Fest is certainly a best of in soooo many ways, Denver is a great city with some great local food and a laid back atmosphere. The Denver Marriott where the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest is held is a comfortable hotel that is nice enough without be pretentious.

The mix of vendors range from dealers like my self to manufactures, designers and hobbyists. The mix of tubes, solid state, sources, speakers, lectures, events, headphones, tweaks, CD's & LP's and equipment is impressive. Every year I'm more impressed with the quality of the show. The exhibitors and the slow pace and quality of the people attending and exhibiting is really something special. I highly recommend this Audio Show to anyone reading this that is considering going and hope to see you their next year.

Magico RMAF 2010

Pictured is the long awaited production Magico Q Speakers, the talk of the show. These were sounding like music and less like any speakers I heard at the Rocky Mountain Audiofest. These are the finest speakers I have heard with the exception of the Magico M-5's. Our Magico model Q speakers are being completed and due here early in December!

Please accept my cordial innovation to audition them in my World Class Showroom in Los Angeles (by appointment) and see and hear for yourself the speaker that so impressed Michael Fremer & Jonathan Valin. As we say around Weinhart Design, they're beyond any natural sound we ever heard coming from a speaker. They really are Super-Natural.

Thumbs Up in the E.A.R Room. Dan Meinwald of E.A.R USA standing with David Weinhart after an enjoyable listening session.

Dan Meinwald was showing my Reference "Tube" Pre Amplifier & Amplifiers the 912 Tube Pre Amplifier with one of the finest built-in phono sections, only $11,500. Plus the E.A.R 890 Stereo 70 watt Amplifier each $7,595 (we bridge them here at Weinhart Design for 140 watts a channel. Along with the E.A.R CD Player and Townshend Turntable with the Martin Design Speakers. As always his rooms at shows are amongst the best sound.

Weinhart Design and FACT RMAF 2010

It's a FACT? The first PMC speaker designed for the Audiophile and Home. We are auditioning these shortly and the floor standing FACT 8 just might be the best $9,995 speakers available for a small to medium sized room and budget. Shown with Bryston Electronics everything sounded very good indeed. Weinhart Design is very happy with Bryston electronics and their CD, Music Server & 28B SST2 monos set new standards in Solid State Electronics and don't break the bank.

PMC IB2i speakers and Bryston mono block amplifiers made a terrific combination together and the bass was rich and powerful. Bryston's awards and rave reviews pour in daily from around the world. There's rarely a week that goes by that some audio or even video reviewer isn't singing the praises of the Bryston line.

One show report from AudioMatters Patrick Dillon, “Also very good, Bryston ran a very musical set up consisting of their own BCD-1 player, their new transport (BDP-1 Digital Player) and Dac1, BP26/MPS2 Preamp and mono power amps, with PMC IB2 speakers (I think). I sat next to James Tanner as he controlled the music with an iPhone and Ipad, playing various selections in quick succession. The music was in proportion, sounded pleasing and just somehow right, another reminder that power has its place and quality is not the same as cost.
