eating and having fun.

On Sunday October 26, 2-5pm 2008: Weinhart Design in Los Angeles, owned and operated by Lifetime L.A. and Orange County Audio Society Member, David Weinhart former owner Ambrosia AV, hosted the October meeting. David shared his best kept secrets in making better sound. The theme of the event was “Discovering What Is Possible”. Their were demonstrations and comparisons of the best of analog and best of digital, featuring the 800 pound, cost-no-object Clearaudio Statement Turntable, Meridian's reference 808.2 CD player, and the Sooloos Music Server with Stahl-Tek’s state-of-the-art Vekian D/A converter, all played on the world renowned Magico speakers. We're a Meridian Premium Partner, their hight level dealer.

Several superb guests flew in to speak to the Society and guests and were at Weinhart Design in Los Angeles to answer everyone’s questions.

The one and only, Wally Malewicz, designer of Wally Tools for turntables and numerous audio products, flew in and brought all of his set up tools and offered special pricing for The Weinhart Design and Society guests. Wally graciously demonstrated how to properly and scientifically set up a turntable and get the most out of analog LPs, highlighting the advantages of his incomparable Wally Tools. At this special event, Wally explained to the group all things regarding proper set up, how to use his tools and had even hosed a Turntable Clinic where he demonstrated his easy to use reference tools. Wally spend eight hours dialing in the Clearaudio Reference Statement cost-no-object table, Statement arm and Goldfinger cartridge. The reference standard at Weinhart Design. Additionally Wally shared his expertise with Weinhart Design’s owner David Weinhart and taught him how to properly use his magnificent tools.

It should be noted: We highly recommend Wally Malewicz as one of the top analog experts in the world and David Weinhart fully endorses, uses his tools and recommends purchasing them directly from Wally Malewicz @ http://www.simplyblack.net/WVC/index_wally.html or contact Weinhart Design info@weinhartdesign.com and we can help you acquire what ever you need in his products or the best range of new and pre owned Audio & Video products to be found anywhere.

Representatives from Meridian were on hand to discuss their role in the “state of the art” in CD playback, DSP speakers, surround processors, electronics and video displays and processing.

Jim Wang President of Harmonic Tech was on hand to discuss his latest developments with a new Magic Reference Power Cord with Pure AC Module.

Jim White owner, founder and designer of Aesthetix was also on hard to answer questions and show everyone his latest achievements, the new Signature Calypso line stage, ATLAS mono block POWER Amps and The cost no object, three chassis tube Io Eclipse Phono Stage (a Weinhart Design Reference piece on display with the ClearAudio Statement table and Arm with our favorite cartridge the Clearaudio Goldfinger).

David Weinhart kicking off a direct comparison of the best cost no object digital and cost no object analog to be found anywhere in a direct comparison. The guests were all surprised and enjoyed both, most favored analog (no surprise here) but when asked by a show of hands who thought it was closer than they thought approximately 3/4 raised their hands. It should be properly noted, both analog and digital have come a long way!
